She's Here:)

Emma Kay Sage joined our family on 11/22/08 at 8:04 pm. She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz, and measured 21 inches long. She now is only 19.5 inches long, since she's not a cone head anymore:)

Labor was long and arduous, but it's also the best thing I've ever done. For the record, I DID NOT take castor oil, and I DID go into labor on my own:) I'm very thankful that I did not have to be induced. However, it would have been nice not to have been in labor for 37 hours, start to finish. But, I guess that's life:)

We are still adjusting to life with a baby (A BABY?? WHAT? SHE'S MINE? YOU MEAN I GET TO KEEP HER?? RADICAL!). I'm very thankful that my mom is here with us, and that we have so much family, so close, to help us out. I'm also very thankful that Emma is currently dozing next to me wearing her turkey day outfit. Because she's just so cute!

I'm in love:)

She IS just so cute! Cuter even, and I got to see her in person so I'm in-the-know.

And very calm.

As was everyone else. I walked in and Sherry was sitting on one couch, Alyssa was holding a peacefully sleeping Emma on another couch, and Mike was sitting on the floor in front of his girls. And they were all watching TLC. I'm like, DUDES -- why isn't anyone wiping poop of the wall, trying to figure out which snaps line up, tripping over blankets that were swaddle rejects or sobbing uncontrollably, and why does it look like you washed your hair!!??!! And it's not like they had time to run around and tidy up. I called and invited myself over; Alyssa said "Sure"; then I said "Great, I'm here! Ding Dong."

And no, I didn't take her any more butt paste.

She is a doll Alyssa! I'm sure you are just loving her to bits right now.

The calm has got to be Mom Kilgore's doing. I swear, that woman just oozes Valium from her pores. Crysta tells me she CAN get flustered, but only if someone messes with her kids or starts talking politics.

Anyway, I can't wait to see more pictures and hear about all her firsts. Sorry about your marathon labor though. That was something I managed to avoid, but I did have to do it drug free the second time (cool if you want to, NOT cool if you love druggy childbirth:)

Okay, back to my egg nog milkshake...

She is adorable! We're so happy she is finally here. Sorry we weren't able to come stop by this weekend, we just had a lot of things planned. But we are glad to hear everything went well!

Holy Macaroni! I love her. (can I call her macaroni?)
So you just HAD to go and blow my 29 hour labor out of the water, didn't you. Anything to one-up your big sister... What is WITH us Kilgore girls?! Something tells me if mom had had labors like ours there wouldn't be 8 of us...
I can't wait to see you in THREE WEEKS! That's right. THREE WEEKS! Count 'em up! Woot woot!

p.s. Deb, my mom was there for the birth of MY first child and it was the antithesis of calm. So, while I'm sure some of Alyssa's idyllicism (that's right, dudes, making up words UMC-style) was Sherry-induced I'm thinking she's just already an over-achiever at this whole mom business.:) That's typical Lylla, though:)

p.p.s. Did I mention I'm going to see you in THREE WEEKS!?!?!?!?AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
